Another Turn Around
Creative Writing | Poetry
THE carousel horses have slowed, music fading
Music-box people with frozen expressions
Anxiously wait to be wound.
Gone their whirling colors and awkward dance moves.
Shimmering figures poised on the turntable,
Star dusted silhouettes in the dim of light
Precariously keeping balance…
All of us actors on a stage.
Moving from scene to scene
Hoping to catch the brass ring
Silence, then anticipation
As we anticipate another turn around.
